Lost Wax Jewellery Workshop

Come join me at the Vice Jewellery Lost Wax Jewellery Making Workshop hosted by me, Lia Vice.

In this hands-on workshop, you'll dive into learning about making jewellery using the ancient technique of lost wax casting. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, I'll guide you through every step of the process where you'll learn various methods of wax creation to make your own unique piece of jewellery.

 
In this workshop you will be taught the following:  
~A brief history and the technical steps of lost wax casting  
~The tools required for lost wax casting  
~Safety and PPE when using tools and wax  
~How to measure your ring size accurately  
~Different types of wax, their attributes and applications 
~How to design and plan pieces for a comfortable and quality outcome  
~How to measure carve and shape pieces from solid wax  
~How to build up, join pieces or add wax accents by melting wax  
~Tips and tricks I've learnt over the years to make the process smoother  
 
I will supply all of the tools required to create your magic along with cups of tea, a glass of wine, beer or yummy soda water and some light snacks. All you need to bring is yourself and some ideas of what you'd like to create!  If you'd like to bring books, drawings, iPad/Laptop or any other food or drinks you are more than welcome to! 
 
If you would like to finish your own pieces when they come back in metal (which I definitely recommend) you can book a Metal finishing class on a Saturday or I can finish your initial piece for you free of charge. Please note that additional pieces attract extra fee's which I will inform you of on the day.

We may run over with time if you're still working on your creations but if you finish early or on time you're welcome to leave whenever you please.

*Please note: A 48 hour cancellation policy applies. If you are unable to come please allow at least this much time so I can find another person to fill your spot. No refunds for change of mind or other circumstances. You can however be issued a credit to use in the future for another class or to spend elsewhere within my store.
